First of all, being a true chopper, any type of plugin should be used at a minimum, however there are times when a plugin or filter is needed.

My trouble is that all of a sudden the Flood filter stopped working after 6 months of no problems. It lets me open it and preview what my image would look like, but when I click OK to apply it to my picture, nothing happens.

I tried reloading it but still does the same thing. It is registered, and when I reloaded it into my plugin folder it still seams registered.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, I hate the flood filter. Try this: http://photoshopcontest.com/tutorials/26/displacement-water.html It is sooooo much better. Putting my hatred aside. What version of the plugin are you running? Also, what version of PS? I would check the plugin's website and see if there are any updates. Updates are free according to thier webpage. If you have been updating your PS then it may have effected your plugin. Also I would call the customer support for that filter. They will probably answer your question quickly. I would just be happy that it died

Thanks ReyRey for the advice, but you are right, the Flood filter sucks.

I am going to use the tutorial, and not bother with Flaming Pear.

Flood filter seems to give results that are just as good as that tutorial in a tenth of the time. And the settings there make it a breeze to work with.

Yeah, it's more impressive to do it on your own, but it's still a very nice filter.

I had similar probs once with the FP 'lacquer' filter. When I contacted FP support, they sent me a 'fixlacquer' app which did the trick. Possibly, they have similar repair apps for their other filters like flood?

Sure DOC it's a fun filter that does cool things but I truly don't believe it is anywhere
close to as good as you can do it yourself. (just my opinion)
I can spot the flood filter a mile away, so can nost knowledgable clients.
Sometimes filters like that are good starting points but I would never just leave it like that.
(again just my opinion.)

plugins ? it's good to unload most of the PS plugins by putting a tilde at the beinning of their names, ps starts and run faster.


Plus most are useless

I removed the filter gallery and I feel better in my everyday life.
