If you can afford it, get an Intuos3. It feels like drawing with a pencil. You can do shading, etc.

The Graphire is like using a ball point pen.
The Intuos is like using a pencil (way better).

I have a small Wacom Tablet, I love it, it has enough pressure sens. in the pen for shading and the like. My only problem with it is that its about 5years old, and the pen and mouse are starting to wear out alittle from all the work its been used for... may have to go out and buy a new one soon.

I have a Graphire 2, but never use it..........it's quite a change from chopping with a mouse.
I only use it for drawing.
For all my chops I am still more comfortable with a mouse.

I've found that graphics tablets make excellent spill catchers!

I just purchased a Wacom Graphire4. It's very nice, and it comes with a stylus as well as a mouse you can use on the tablet, so you can switch back and forth quickly if you need to. So far, it's been very useful. I got used to it after using only the stylus to navigate on my computer all day.
