'Nother idea lifted from DA and various other sites. How about giving registered members the ability to add their favorite chops by other people to a favorites folder located in their profile just like the portfolio. This way we can easily view our favorite chops from the past without a lot of searching.

Maybe you can keep track of how many favorites an entry gets like you do votes, but an entry can be favorited even after the voting ends.

Perhaps make it an advantage member only feature if this sort of thing would take up too much bandwidth.

Good thoughts. It is already in progress on the upgraded psc as it was mentioned by other users earlier this year.

I do have a question for you all though, should every one be able to view everyone else's favorites, should they be kept private or should it be a choice?

I'd vote public. I don't see any reason someone would want to hide what they favorited.

I really feel bad that they have to work so hard to mock. I plan to send them all of the templates and code for the new features in detail. Maybe I could just build them a quick api right into psc.... j/k Wink

They will have to start re-cloning though as a lot of things are going to change on PSC. Some will like it, some wont and some just fear change and take time to adjust.

As for the favorites, I am leaning towards public myself. Or at least making that the default if there is a choice. Either way, it will show how many people have added it as a favorite on the display entry page.

What DoC said... If you want to keep 'em private, just leave it blank...
But why hiding something like that?
I mean... no?

Have it be a choice but default it to public. Don't know why anyone would want to hide what their favorites are either (unless it divulges some weird fetish through a recognizable pattern of favorites).

I like the idea.

I think making it available for everyone is best. I don\'t think a favorite option will encourage someone to get advantage.

The thing I like the most about the idea is that it will help everyone understand what kind of style each member like.

Cool

I may also suggest:
an option that allows advantage members to submit their own chops, from sources they choose. After they submit their work, it will be available for voting: Keep it on psc free spirit gallery, or remove it. If I have advantage, I would not bother to pay 5 bucks a year for the option.
