if you're using dreamweaver, update to 8.2 to fix the flash V IE6 problem, make all external links open in new windows, other than that it all looks great.

if the flash V IE6 is an issue for you and you're not using D/W go here, for a very long fix,

Canuck: You had your chance Smile

Reinman: What do you suggest? When templates are so cheap nowadays, and 14 year olds will design for a new skateboard, it's hard to find business.

ScionShade: I don't know him personally, but yeah. Great stuff.

anfa: Thanks. I feel the same way.

bx3800: You can charge more because you're better Smile I'm thinking about adding a dedicated psc area as well.

Eve: Thanks. I call them "its"

splodge: I code by hand Smile Thanks for the link, didn't realize IE6 did that.

Re: $20 / hr.

Not dissing you about it, bro, just saying you may wish to UP your VALUE/WORTH a bit. Sounds like you are just getting started, and you are building your portfolio. This is a good thing, and its cool to get started. The reason I charge between $75~$100 an hour (depending on how much photography stuff is involved) is because I can look someone in the eye and tell them I'm worth that much. Believe me, the first few (dozen) times I said that I was shakin in my boots. But eventually I really believed it, so did my clients, AND I kept giving the best I could for WHATEVER fee I was charging.

One trick I've used (and still use from time to time) is to BILL at $X/hr and then DISCOUNT it to $whatever. In other words, my invoice says value of work is $1,000 and then it says $400 discount for Buddhist Clan Discount or whatever. That way my invoice to the client reflects its actual VALUE and they see the DEAL they are getting. My experience shows that if you just list yourself at $20 / hr your clients will get trained into believing that is all you are worth. BUT if you start putting out the idea that you are worth $40/hr even though you discount to $20, it will be easier to move your rates up.

Once you get going and start getting a (hopefully) good reputation you keep raising your rates until about 1/2 of your quotes don't get you gigs. Then you know you are at the edge of your actual "value". If everybody says yes to your quotes then you are probably charging less then you are actually worth.

Okay - you didn't ask for this lesson (no one did, actually!) but I thought I'd toss this in for you and any other Young 'Uns that are starting out on this hellish path! Very Happy
