Bears repeating...since there are a fair amount of newcomers to PSC. This is an attempt to help them. Very Happy

Reasons I won't vote for a post---

1) The author goes on and on about how long it took to make it, including all the steps and efforts that went into its creation. Why? Because we all put effort into making something others will look at and hopefully like. Duh! note: this excludes those who post their psd files as I believe they're beneficial to anyone who truly wants to learn PS.

2) Anything that has the PSC logo in it. Why? I know what site I'm at and why I'm here.

3) Please Very Happy stop writing UNDERVOTED PEOPLE C'MON VOTE FOR THIS. It will either get votes based on its own merit or it won't. If they're your friend, then YOUR vote should mean something extra TO THEM. I have occasionally written "why is this down here" more to respect the author than trying to force others to vote for it.

4) People who think that getting votes from some elite persons here count more than from a newbie who just completed their 10th chop and can finally vote. If that's the case, please let me know you're not interested in MY measly little vote and I'll oblige.

5) Overt sexually or gross posts. Why? Because it insults my intellegence. Now if it's funny sexual or gross, that's different. Manass IS funny, btw.

6) Obvious uncreative posts. We've all had brain block. If that's the case, try another day's source. Don't try to explain it by saying, I didn't have time to do a decent chop so look at this crap instead.

thought of one more...
7.) Poorly made posts...bad cutting...obvious shadow mistakes...yet get votes and the voters point out the mistakes prior to hitting "vote."
These sorts of statements are called constructive criticism and belong in the comments section.
There are rare instances that someone has made a TERRIFIC IDEA chop and deserves votes IF its execution warrants it.

Okay, that's all! If this helps just one person, then I haven't wasted anyone's time.
And please, all newbies to this site...look at the Galleries section (and those top choppers' portfolios) to get an understanding of what's considered good and original posts. Happy choppin'!!!! Cool

here's the original thread...

Wow, well said:. Im guilty of Article: 3 Section: B Paragraph: 2:.

Commenting Undervoted:.

Im going to fight you on this one.
I feel that if a piece is truly very well done and is not getting the merit it receives for one reason or another I want the artist to know that "I" appreciate the hard effort that was put into a certain piece.

And would appreciate the same.

My 2cts:. Very Happy

C'mon People Vote for this Laughing Now I'm going to leave that on all your pictures Eve Laughing
But yes, you're right, the way I see it, if you make an honest effort on your chop, and don't just do a tiny cut and paste, I'll usually vote for you, I make an effort to use all 25 of my votes daily, I'd like to see a list posted on the homepage of who is actually voting, and how many, it might shame more people into voting, I get tired of seeing some people always posting but never voting, I won't say who you are, but you know Shocked so get out and VOTE!

I agree bx, it bugs me when I see something great that's dying with no votes, it can be pretty discouraging,...it happens to me ALL the time Laughing

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh......but that's not PC, huh?
