As long as there is a character limit in chat (and I mean letters, numbers, and symbols, etc--there's still no limit to how many of US "characters" can be in there!), it would be very nice to have a "characters remaining" countdown in the chat dialog box and pop-up chat dialog box like there is for the comment-box on entries. Just a thought.

Indeed. People keep giving up on what they're trying to say. It gets very confusing fast if someone is actually trying to say something of substance.

or a input break when all the characters are used would be good too.
