Fun little daily poll. If forced to, which tool would you go without. First poll pits the mighty pen tool against the ever useful clonestamp.

the stamp tool is really a must when you retouch for advertising....pen tool is not that important at all you can always use the quick mask combined with channels etc.

I rarely use the pen tool at all!!!!

my 2 cents...

This is a very tough question for me. Huh..

For THIS site I use that Pen Tool a LOT! It is simply the most accurate way to select stuff, at least for me.

BUT in the real Digital Image World, I usually am not putting badger's heads onto ostrich bodies and then putting all that into a row boat sitting on top of a sand dune. I'm usually using the Rubber Stamp tool to fix up some nasty thing that my photographer screwed up (oh, that ME!). Razz

So - since I'd rather be paying my rent, I would choose to let go the pen tool and I'd (like others have said) find other ways to make selections.

Thanks for listening. I feel better already (*deep sighing ensues*) Smile

Rubber stamp? Haven't used it in years.
Don't take my patch tool though...

Once I learned how to use the pen, I never used anything else to select objects...

I love Both of them very much. But if I was in a flood and had to save one it'd be the pen tool. Goodbye Cloney Crying or Very sad

I'm proud of you! Razz

This is a cool poll. I would definitely sack the pen tool vs clonestamp. I rarely use pen now anyways.

Alltough I had a short time using the pen tool for selecting stuff (thanks to Reins excellent tutorial), I feel more comfortable using masks and brushes, I'm faster with these tools then I ever have been with the pen tool simply because I've 'mastered' this technique much better. Alltough I would miss it for the vector related work

I couldn't miss the clone stamp, doesn't happen much I've done an image without using it.

So there's a pretty easy choice for me, I could live without the pen tool.

Most people have been posting that they'd get rid of the pen tool, but the poll shows it a lot closer than that.

Yeah, and you can recreate the clone stamp effect eventhough it'll take a long time.
