Photoshop Contest Forum Index - Ask the Experts - synchronizing color settings... - Reply to topic

Anyone know anything about matching color settings with the creative suite? I've got my color settings synchronized, but my blacks still aren't the same in illustrator as they are in photoshop... Thought maybe someone else may have had the same problem before. If so your assistance would be much appreciated!

have you run adobe gamma or created a monitor profile ?

yes, my monitor profile has been set using the adobe gamma. The problem I'm having is my colors do not match from one program to another, even though they are synchronized... PhotoshopCS2 to IllustratorCS2... Here is an example of my situation. Both colors are in CMYK and are 100% K. Left side photoshop and right side Illustrator... It's probably something simple and I'm going to look stupid for not being able to fix it, but I've tried everything I could think of...

You may want to read this PDF...

www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/pdfs/cs2_color_workflows.pdf

Might help.

Thanks guys, I've messed with my color settings all day and have finally got my colors to match a little better. I created another setting for my monitor and also re-synchronized my adobe programs. It's way closer than it was...

Granulated, it turns out that the two colors I posted should look the same to you. Maybe just a little lighter... after I messed with my colors and monitor, I came back to this forum and they both look the same!

DP, I used the pdf to re-synchronize my color settings and it turned out much better than before..

Thank you both! JT

Hey, do me a favor and go to this website and tell me if it looks really dark in your monitor... http://www.roughcountry.com After I changed all my setting everything I've done in the past looks really dark...

Nah, it doesn't look overly dark...that IS supposed to be a black background, right? Smile
