Saw this on Mytube. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1246174515665636969

I think it's rather artistic. The man has a good eye.

.

This is something that a guy would purchase while visiting Vegas because he found the technique fascinating.

Then he'd bring it home to show his wife and the painting would never see the light of day again.

Straight to storage next to the velvet Elvis.

I once saw a guy along Hollywood Boulevard do something like that. It's cool and flashy but in the end it is something that loses the wow factor as soon as it gets to the house (as badcop pointed out).

Isn't this airbrushing art without an airbrush? And since there's no airbrush it seems so much more difficult for the viewing audience?

The other thing I've noticed is that these things are almost always a space theme. Anyone ever see one of these artists do a portrait or still life? I'd be curious to see that done using these techniques.

There are things I like about it though. The way he did the pyramids and planetary rings was cool. And the fire at the end was nifty. Wonder what purpose that serves? At first I thought it was to set-up the paint but then he signs the work by using a stylus in the paint. So...texture...gloss?

One things for sure the guy knows how to use layers and masks! Laughing

Saw this being done on the street in Cancun 16 years ago. Under the influence of copious amounts of cerveza it was pretty cool at the time. Under a more sobering light back at home it looked like someone sprayed a piece of paper with paint. Is one man's art is destroying the ozone layer?

Yeh yeh, allright. I wouldnt hang it in my livingroom Smile

But I was surprised about the comparison with photoshop. The man is layering and masking like on a computer. And he uses some niffty tricks.

R.I.P. Bob Ross Crying or Very sad He was the reason that most people decided to become artists. Then once they became professionals they made fun of him. Go figure. Huh..

Well, if you look at some of the other paintings he has hanging around him, you can see that they aren't all space-themed. The one shown was a little wild, but I think it was picked to demonstrate different techniques. I saw some cool stuff hanging behind him.

The techniques shown are rather fun and nice too watch.

But I'm not too impressed about results. Looking at the guy's portfolio shows a general same theme. Kinda lacks in inspiration. ( www.sprej.com )

But nonetheless nice to see how they're made Smile
