i'm trying to understand why my last post
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/108871/cocktail.html
did so poorly...
i don't want to sound whiny i just expected it to do better because it was different.....
usually people like illustrative posts.
i know it didn't have much source in it but i actually had a whole thought process involved, and i just thought that something a bit different would be welcomed in here.....

The only thing that went wrong was it was buried in a reunion contest with 107 entries.

I think it was great... Really..post some more and I'll bet you will do tons better... Just don't pick the day of the laptop contest... You would be up against the same odds.

Cheers.. Happy drawing... Cool

That definitely would have gotten my vote, had I seen it in that mass of entries. I ususally try to look through all of them but I guess I failed on that this time. So here's my Late Vote errr, un-vote? err, aww hell...That's real good work! Very Happy

Did you draw the whole thing? People might've thought you just pasted the source in an illustration...

Sometimes it's important to explain the process involved into making your image.

If I would have seen it sooner, it would have received my vote.

Very artistic.

When entering huge contest such as the clover one, its best to enter early so your entry is somewhere on the first three pages or it will get overlooked. Believe me. For some reason the earlier the post, the more votes it will get. Thats why advantage is an advantage.

Just my opinion Smile

25 votes to spread across over 100 entries.

10 is pretty good, all things considered.

I got 2 votes less in the last mass participation event

Let's just say I was mildly bemused ! Laughing

i usually vote for use/manipulation of source. this entry was almost entirely about the illustration - the use/manipulation of source for me was minimal

also it didn't help that i didn't really like the style of illustration, but as with any art, it's all a matter of personal taste

now if you can combine illustration (whether i like the style or not) with clever use of source, then i'll vote

Nice style, Nevet, and I applaud your different approach...especially for a highly competitive contest.

Here's a thread started about illustrators...

that's what I thought. just pasted a small version of the source into an already made pic. My apologies if that's not the case. Also like Kansas said there was an above normal amount of entries.
