Teaching, doing conferences etc doesn't make a better artist. He's technically very good, but there's hundred of more creative & better photoshop artist. I think he's using his talent to make good business and this is a good choice if he's enough passionate & if he likes exposure & money. But a lot of artists can have no interest in those things for sure.

"clipping room floor" where they crop movie film and all the waste film gets tossed onto the floor. In photoshop we call it "delete layer".
