I'm bias twards MAC's for my design work. I just know my way around them better though. And my OS X never crashes Twisted Evil

Top Ten Reasons for Upgrading to a PC instead of a Mac:

* 1. You enjoy reading computer manuals
* 2. Buying parts 'not included' is your idea of being patriotic
* 3. Blaming it on the PC is a great excuse... for anything
* 4. Tech support is your idea of telephone dating
* 5. Your favorite computer game is figuring out where your files are
* 6. You look forward to today's new virus (or worm, or both)
* 7. You like listening to telephone support hold-button music
* 8. Letting the kids play on the Mac next door frees your time (eliminates after-school kid sitters)
* 9. You think Bill Gates deserves the money
* 10. You have nothing better to do with all the extra time

I have both...
I use the MAC for graphics and surfing the web (less viruses) and the IBM to play games and burn music on. Very Happy

My school is telling me the industry standard is Mac (there are problems when printing when trying to convert Mac to PC). This sucks for me because I just bought an HP the beginning of this year and I don't know if I should just stick with my PC or invest in a Mac Huh..

while that is true the industry standard is MAC. it is far easier for the MAC to convert your illustrator/photoshop files from the IBM than the other way around. Most times its just the fonts that screw up the works... you can get around this by outlining all of the type before bringing it to a print shop. Wink

Get out your checkbook when it does...

did you know that OS X is basically unix in apple clothing?

First computer I ever screamed at was an apple IIe with 48k ram and a big ol' floppy drive that booted dos. I'll never forget animating (two frames addressed one pixel at a time by a graph) in phosphor green! The best one ever was a 20x20 candle that made 'fire' by switching between two slightly offset flames.

F*ck I'm old...

Oh Yeah, for the money, PC works just fine for me. Apple advertised a system a few years ago for a thousand dollars. The ati video card, processor, and memory had nothing compared to the computer I built for less than 500 bucks. Why should I pay that kind of markup? The people I bought my 500 dollars worth of computer parts from(fry's) still made money. Imagine what Apple's profit margin is...
