I am creating this thread for those who would like to share there very first image creations with photoshop, along with there story of how they got started using photoshop. I will start Wink (I am not sure if this has already been started, I didn't see anything in the forums)

I started using photoshop because of livejournal. I stumbled upon colorbars and and asked how they were made. After that I read tons of tutorials on how to make them. I found LJ communities that had contests and joined those. After that I did a search for PS tutorials and the rest is history. Now, I can create images without tutorials most of the time. This was about a year and half ago.

Here is my first ever colorbar...
I think you can tell it's my first creation in photoshop, lol.

This is the last one I made months ago

This is my fav of all Very Happy

My first PS creations involved making my family members look unattractive.

Let's see... my first experience with photoshop *cough* version 3 *cough* was in a college computer graphics class (everyone experiments in college, right?) Well, "class" is pretty generous, as they didn't actually have a teacher who knew how to use the programs. It was more that they had a room full of computers that they let us access and teach ourselves and get a class credit for it...

Thankfully, my first pieces of photoshop "art" are inaccessible as they were stored on floppy disks (in all of their 1.4 MB of glory...) Although I probably have printouts of stuff in some dusty folder somewhere, which I will scan if I ever find them. I have an unfortunate picture in my head of an attempt at combining the front half of a lion with the back half of a black sports car... *shudder*

Oh wow, this just occurred to me-- last year, I was actually cleaning out some boxes and came across a whole bunch of floppy disks with all of my stuff from that computer class. Not knowing what to do with them (and having nothing better to do), I ripped them apart, with the thought that the inside floppy circles with the metal ring in the middle could be transformed into some kind of cool art project.

I never did anything with them. BUT, I did find a good home for them... I actually gave them to Queen La Tiff over the summer, because I knew she'd appreciate a random gift of strange art materials.
She did Very Happy

circle of life.

I have a similar prob as st1n3r, the first PS work I did was doing some airbrush and face blurs for a mates amature porn site...I progressed on to bunny ears and devil tails and angle wings...to full image sets that were sold for big bucks to the Jaoaneese market...made some pocket money out of it and the work was enjoyable...tryin to find some postable images of my work back then...SFW postable that is... Laughing

My first image with Photoshop? Sheesh I don't even remember. I started out chopping with Macromedia Fireworks MX, then MX 2004, then GIMP and then CS2.

I think my first ever Photoshop chop was for PSC. I'll have to dig around in my portfolio to see what it was as I don't even remember. Laughing brb....

{checking through archives}

WOW Shocked I never realized how many contest/forum-game chops I start but never finish.

I had a bunch of stuff started while I was trying to learn PS but I guess this contest entry is the first one that I actually finished.
