A co-worker gave me permission to submit a bunch of pictures that he took at the EAA Airshow in Oshkosh Wisconsin. I resized 32 images to PSC's size requirements and uploaded them.

During this I found that uploading more than one picture at a time is a PITA. You submit a picture and it takes a minimum of 6 clicks to submit the second one (5 if you hit the enter key after selecting the file from your disk drive). Plus you have to pay close attention or else you could either miss one or submit the same pic twice.

I suggest that the process be streamlined a bit. Simply adding the ability to upload another pic right from the confirmation screen that comes up after you've uploaded a pic would be great (in other word put the submission form on that screen if the submission is successful).

Also it'd be cool to get a running list of the file names we've submitted for the day. This would help when uploading multiples in a row and when uploading in more than one session. This could be done with one additional table in the database that's keyed on the member's PSC ID, Date-time, and filename. Records older than 24 hours could be purged to keep the table from getting too big. Alternately the table records could be kept to give the users a listing of the images they've submitted in the past. Very Happy

Or have it so you can upload more than one at a time...

Please, leave it the way it is.
you allow easy multiple uploads and these guys will upload ALL their crap images.
this way it takes a little effort and people are more likely to pick and choose what they upload.
We can only do 365 images a year.If it's too much work for yas, don't worry about it.

I do agree that it should be a one-at-a-time submission. BUT it would still be nice to make it a little more friendly. The idea that making it a little easier will only foster submission of crappy shots is silly. There's nothing preventing people from uploading crappy images as it is! Judging by the images in the rotation they are doing that too.

Taking 2 clicks out of the process for each additional image won't make it worse.

I'm not suggesting a mass overhaul or even mass upload capability. Just two things:

1. Add the submission form to the confirmation screen that comes up when you've successfully submitted an image so that you can immediately submit another image if you so desire.

2. Create a listing showing the names of the images that you've already submitted that day (or all images) so you don't miss or repeat a submission.

That's it. Not too complicated. Smile

I see there's a slight improvement in this area. The current 'Submit Originals' page now shows more information about submitted images.

You have had submitted 14 original images.
You have had 3 original images accepted and 1 rejected.
4 of your submitted images are currently in the voting queue.
Accepted: ...
