Does anyone know if the below statement applies?

I don't believe it does.

We use non-registered member ratings for tie-breakers in contests where two images end up with the same amount of member votes.

it doesn't apply. There was talk to apply it. But due to the untrustable nature of this rating, the idea has been dropped.

The 'first one in, wins'-rule is the only tie breaker at this moment

AFAIR, that's always been the situation. S/He who posts first, wins first... Wink

Somebody in another forum suggested having a favorite entry vote in addition to the 25 votes you get to dish out... this person wanted to incorporate the special vote as a double vote to be included in the overall total votes an entry receives. I liked this idea, but perhaps it would be instead useful as a tiebreaker.

alltough not a bad idea, this opens the door more for biased voting (users favoritizing other users), wich would again give a false judgement of the supposedly winning image.

Think the current system is still the best. First one in is first to win (yes this is a disadvantage for non-advantage people, but hey that's why it's called advantage anyways Smile )

I would recommend a tweak to the rule: if a non-advantaged entry is tied with advantaged, the non-advantaged wins
