Well i been reading on how to create a partition but i don't get it... I have Windows Xp Home and i want to install Xp pro on another partition but when i insert the XP pro CD it says that i have on partition (where the XP home is) and another one that is 8M (Don't know what that is) and it tells me if i want to delete or create a partition but when i click on the XP HOME it only says DELETE and when i click on the 8M one it says that it can't create a partition there... is there a way i can create a partition without the XP disk ? I have the disks that came with my computer but they dont say anything about partitions...

I need help, someone on PSC has to know... Maybe Chicken

I found this but i don't get it

Code:
Open Command Prompt.
Type:
diskpart

At the DISKPART prompt, type:
list disk

Make note of the disk number of the disk on which you want to create a primary or extended partition.

At the DISKPART prompt, type:
select disk n

Select the disk n where you want to create the primary or extended partition.

At the DISKPART prompt, type one of the following:
create partition primary [size=n] [offset=n] [noerr]

or

create partition extended [size=n] [offset=n] [noerr]

or

create partition logical [size=n] [offset=n] [noerr]

I still have to say its a waste of time and space, but here is partition magic... http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/products/overview.jsp?pcid=sp&pvid=pm80

ok, like bneises said, waste of time (and space) to make a double installation. In my opinion it would be better to create a secondary hardware profile when you want to play games.

This way you can disable the services wich aren't required for your gaming profile (or vice versa)

agreed, just eat memory and system resources as the way xp works even if 2 are on seperate partitions, it will be eating memory waiting to be used..... not good, slow the entire system down and make you cry alot FC Laughing

do what Tony said (Gref) this bypasses the problem, as it forces windows to shut down all not needed software and processes while game playing etc Very Happy

Ok, I have to ask.
What's with the sig, grefix?
Are you manually updating it every few hours?
or is something generating updated images?

little php script I wrote a couple of days ago Smile

Takes an image from a folder with my psc entries
Cuts out a random piece of it.
Fills it partially with a transparent white rectangle.
Uses the photoshop rss feed to write the contest details on it and takes the filename (without jpg) to set the title of that entry.
And save the result to an image, which is linked through my signature.

It get's updated regularly via a cron job Smile
