I may not be making myself clear. Personally I don't have a problem choppin' a previous chop, provided it's substantially different. Secondly, I'm referring to the numerous chops which borrow from other's artwork without providing credit.

ok I'll give you the substantially different part, cause its really just a paste job into his previous work. but the second point he provided the credit by showing the other sources, http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y211/Fotart/Egretatthedesertwork.jpg granted he didn't show his previous work from 'the other site' http://www.photoshoptalent.com/photoshop-picture/4482d1812a91d/ but did show the sources all the same. (and thats more than most do here) and it was his work plus the flood filter

this is why I always try to include my outside sources in my chops when I need to. just makes things easier on myself. I've been here done this. Where people thought I did more work than I had. Even though it wasn't implied that I had done said work. So in conclusion, I think we are on the same page T. everyone should show their work in a perfect world, but some choose not to do such. meh to each his own. I'm here to have fun, and learn thats it.

Good point!! It's claudio's decision to put his images where he wants and enter as many contests that he wants with the same image or even pieces of the image, there is no limit or rules to that, at least not that I am aware of. Plus, it's cool to use source images from different sites because there royalty free, you have permission to alter them, where it can be quite tedious and cost money for copyright free externals.

To put it bluntly.. your are cheating yourself... not justthe competition.. all you do is learn that you can copy others work and that gets you into a law suit situation.

not just that but it also reflectes badly on the community as people will associate the community for letting it occur.

I have an altogether different point unrelated to the spirit and intentions of this discussion.

Why do the mods keep this thread going if it is talking about an entry for a contest that has not ended yet?
