If I'm not logged in, I can fly around this site, but when I am logged in, it takes several minutes to do anything here now.
Whats the deal?

OK first off, I'm on a T-1 line... and I know its not my server, because all the other web sites I frequent, I fly around them... Its just here.. and just when I'm logged in.

Anyone else having this problem?

(It took over 10 minutes to write & submit this question btw)

It seems off and on for me. But yeah I've seen massive slowdowns too. I'm on a "fat pipe" here at work too.

I think Proc is messing with the back end stuff. I saw this just now:

on a good note, it makes me do actual work Laughing

I open the site, reduce the window, then do some work, then come back 5 minutes later to see if its up and going yet... then I click on the contest, reduce the window, do some more work etc.... Rolling Eyes

Yes, it's been like this for awhile.

It does seem when I am logged in, it takes forever to load the home page.

When I am not logged in, it loads super fast.

Oh, by the way, will I ever see my prize??? Laughing

I wonder why that is?

not logged in = super fast

logged in = super slow

Logged in requires that the site's backend code check to see if you've voted on an image, have new messages in your inbox, etc.

Not logged in then the backend doesn't have to care about anything else other than shoving the pages at you.

IOW, It's a coding thing. Confused

it's not super amazing fast, but it's not what I'd consider slow, at least not on this computer. it takes a second to load everything up for the main page and other content-rich pages.

What I'm annoyed about is that the new "Videos" button on the main page bumps my "Advantage" button to a second freaking row!! It was annoying enough when my "favorites" button was knocked down under the "portfolio" button, but I can live with it, and have. But now that there are two of these, it just makes PSC look shoddy, simply because my monitor is not small. I dunno if it is being edited using a widescreen monitor so that these problems aren't apparent to the editor, but to me, it looks like crap now.

In response to Mason's statement: how many ppl believe the site has improved in the past year, is worst, or about the same?

I would post a survey, but I do not know how to do it.

I'm working on that thing actually. Involves a little back end recoding. Well, had no much time as I'm with other non-psc things involved, but I will be sending proc the solution in a short while. rest assured, this annoyance will be gone soon Smile

As for the rest i'm not involved Smile psc is sometimes slow, bit off and on. But it's not something I can't live with

ps: the recoding I do does not take place on this site, so I'm not responsible for what's going on in here
