I'm trying to upload a picture to go with my name and having trouble keeping the file size 6kb or under. I've dropped the file to 70 x 70 pixels, but the end file ends up being about 80k. What am I doing wrong here?

Lower the compression or decrease the number of colors.

Dot is right, In the "save for web" there should be a little slider on the top right for sizing the file. I think it goes by percentages.

That helped a lot. I'm ashamed to call myself a graphic designer. I do mostly print stuff. Thanks again folks.

don't worry about asking questions. I have to use that Save to Web thing all time and I do print jobs. We have a lot of people who can't figure out how to open a PDF! gees So I open the PDF in Photoshop and do the Save for Web and magically they can view it. Smile
