Q: What is the PSCore statistic?
A: PSCore is a ranking formula that weights and calculates one's win percentage, rank percentile per post, and votes per post (VPP). It also takes into account the changes in the voting system and site activity over time by comparing one's VPP against a floating average VPP of other users who registered at the same time or later. Please note that only users that have posted at least 10 images are eligible to ensure proper mathematical sampling.

Below is the inner workings of how it is done:

The Variables:

WP = Win Percentage
RPP = Rank Percentile Per Post
VPP = Votes Per Post
FAV = Floating Average Votes Per Post

The Formula:

PSCORE = WP + (RPP/2) + (3(VPP/FAV))

**taken from the faq**

very basically....

WP = the percentage of time that you win when you enter a contest.

RPP = Typically, how well your entries do when put in a contest compared with the other entries

VPP = average votes per post over all of your entries

FAV = average votes per post over the recent ones (I think)

PSCORE = The higher it is, the better you are

wow I hope that helps, sure helped me Laughing

Votes Per Post: Your average number of votes per entry posted. The basic stat; a good measure in the short term, not so much in the long term.
Contest Wins: The total number of contests that you've won.
Second Place: Your total number of 2nd place finishes.
Third Place: Your total number of 3rd place finishes.
Win Percentage: The percentage of times you've won when entering.
Rank (Percentile) Per Post: A bit more solid stat than vpp. This is your rank percentile (i.e. 2nd place out of 30 entries is (30-2)/30 * 100 = 93.3%) per entry. It works especially well in the long term, as it accounts for changes in levels of site activity by normalizing against the total number of entrants.
PSCore: (2 x RPP + WP + A floating vpp score equation)
