I never personally liked the idea of them myself and agree there is no point both in having them or for anyone even paying legitimate attention to them. Don't worry Micose your entry merited at least a 4 Twisted Evil Wink

The rating were to make visitors welcome and allow them a small way to participate.
It obviously hasn't worked...has it?
Anybody new here that were persuaded to 'like' psc because of it?
Wonder how much of this daily backup slowdown could be alleviated by getting rid of ratings and categories.....
the categories didn't turn out so hot either...ever look at galleries by category? might as well have the images just thrown in there randomly.
The top of the category images are from people PMing asking
other people to please remember to clik this or that category if you vote for them.Don't tell me it doesn't happen, i get those Pm's...silly people.

As far as the categories go, i think they are usefull. Maybe not in the way of the galleries. But personally i like to see why someone thinks my chop* deserves a vote. You might argue that this can be done in a comment, but the indicators can give you a clearer view on the general voting behaviour.

To even go further, I think it would be even more interesting if multiple options can be chosen (not a single category as it is now) and maybe (but neglectable*) even to see what a specific user has chosen.

*i admit, it's been a long time since i've chopped
*is this english?

Ratings: waste off time or worse, confusing of time spent

Catagories: why? what I'm looking at is what I'm looking at and it don't matter what other people think I'm looking at as I KNOW what I'm looking at is what I THINK I'm looking at. (or SOMETHING like that)...
