How do you do a tut?
Best way is to just do it. You'll figure it out. It ain't rocket science (well - okay. it KINDA is!)
You can lay it out in (shudder) WORD or on an Illustrator page - even just using Photoshop will let you get it together. The main thing is to break down your workflow (how you do it) in a way that ANYONE can follow and understand. Don't ASSUME someone knows what a DODGE tool is or that they know how to do a LAYER MASK. To do a good tut for this site you have to ASSUME that everyone is a dummy (no offense intended, except at Showcase!
) and use the K.I.S.S. principle in laying out your workflow: Keep It Simple Stoopid.
A good idea is to go over ALL the Tuts we currently have here and 1) see if there is one that you can do better and more clearly 2) make sure you don't do one that has already been done clearly already.
Screen captures will be Very important to a good tutorial, so if you don't know how to do that ask me or some other troubled soul here and we'll help you out.
Once you get the basic thing laid out in WORD (*cough cough*) or Illustrator or (if you are really smart - Dreamweaver) then you can send the files in a ZIP or ARCHIVE folder to Procyon and he'll possibly upload it to this site for you (IF IT DOESN'T SUCK).
And, my hope is this: that if a tutorial DOES suck (is unclear, confusing, skips steps, makes huge assumptions) that Proc DOESN"T publish it to the site until it is fixed up and ready to help all the Knowledge Hungray rabble that live here.
