ok i'v never use image ready to make gifs as i'm not very experienced in this field. i usually use a different program and then edit it in image ready. so i have a question i had help i creating my first gif using image ready from converting a psd file. now i need to know how to save the original as a gif i can only figure out how to save optimized versions of the gif but i don't need to as the original is within the required limits for psc can some one walk me thru the rest please.

The native format for ImageReady is PSD, so you should still save your work (layers, frames, layer states, movement, etc.) as PSD

Yes, you can only save optimized versions as GIF. GIF images can have only 2 to 256(max) colors. The Optimize options/tweaks will give you a live preview of what the final GIF will look like. You can also see an estimate of the final filesize. Play with the options and sliders to get a file that fits the restrictions without compromising quality too much.
