I am currently learning a 3D software and looking for something to do to help learn the software just like this site did.

I know there are some people who do 3D stuff here, and want to know if you want have a PSC 3D contest.

If people are interested we can work out rules.

So post if you're interested!

Is not that exactly the special circumstances of the October sixth contest?

FF is correct. We 'borrowed' the CG sphere image to see what we can do to it using Photoshop only (supposedly no 3D).

As far as the original sphere - it is found on a 3d contest website, so you might try your 3D skills there:

As far as the topic of this thread - my occasional use of 3d in daily contests has been very much frowned upon. It should be OK though to share your experiences in the forums.

Would be nice to have a 3d contest once in a while.

Maybe if enough intrest was stirred up, it would be nice to have a 3d page. That way it would not interfer with the ps stuff.

But i re-nig my vote if we have to wear the blue red cardboard glasses.UNLESS there is beer involved. in that case pass me a pair of those headache givers. Laughing

there we go, now there is some quality sense.

my view is there are 3d contest sites out there and thats great, but to use it here to work out perspectives and exact shadows ect is bordering on cheaty pants. I like to do it all freestyle, sure I make errors, and so do many others. But thats the fun of PSC.

I don't mind too much Poser figures, as these can be seen more as externals, as long as they are listed as a poser model. It the mechanics that get to me like I said above.

photoshopcontest.com, not 3dsexyperfectimages.com Wink

edited as I may have misunderstood it was a simple contest and not making the entire site 3d. still though if you allowed it one time people would start to slip it in here and there and then it would be out of control . I am not real fond of that idea but who am I anyway.

I can be fun and all and don't mean to be such a nasty about this but If I went to a an advertised site for a meal that was on the marquee out front and spent some time enjoyed the meal and after a time a couple of other patrons decided instead of a restaurant they wanted the place to be a mechanical bull riding bar well I'd be a bit surprised since you know and since I don't ride bulls I would go find another nice restaurant with good service and fine food but knowing my favorite haute cuisine was being overhauled by this bull craze lol.......... So please please reconsider that idea and I am sorry I came over strong but this place is meaningful to a great deal of people the way it is. Sad Very Happy Very Happy

Like Oscar said, this is still PHOTOSHOPcontest.com

If you want to compete in 3D images there are a lot of other sites that cover that. (3Dluvr, cgisociety, 3dm3, etc..)

Hell, if even some people think animated gifs shouldn't be allowed then I'm pretty sure more people would stand up against 3D competitions.

I am a bit confused Grefix, as this site has a lot of animated gifs. So you are saying that people against gifs would be against 3D or ?

well I am not wild about the animated gifs cuz I am such a purist about it being plain old photoshop but some of them are cute i will admit and I have voted for them but they do get old.
