How can I save a Flash animation file in GIF format? It is saved as GIF image, not as an animation file. Question

If you have the .fla file, just open it up and go to file>export>export movie>then select animated GIF in the file type box.

TO 'TutorMe'
I have followed the same method as you have told, but when trying to view it in gif format, only image is shown; no animation. It is viewed in Flash player and HTML format but not in gif animation.

Go to your publish settings in Flash

File -> Publish Settings (ctrl-shift-f12)

Check the gif image Smile (extra tab will appear if you want to change settings for your gif)

Then publish your fla, woohoow, you're done

what grefix said, but why!!!! saving a .fla as a .gif gives you a minimum of 12 frames a second (depending on frame rate) and a huge file size.

You can set the frame rate down to fractions of 1.

Below is frame rate of 0.5

The problem is: the animation file could not be saved as gif animation. e.g., if I want to upload a Flash animation as my icon PS (avatar), then what is the method? I have tried the export movie method, animatd gif publish method but in vain.

HI!
Look at my icon (but don't laugh! Very Happy) this is my experimental gif animation. I am having some problem with setting file sizes of my animation files. I hope that also will be sorted out in near future.
Thank you all for your suggestions.
