LOL@ The Tom from Myspace brush. I make my own brushes and

don't like using other people's, but there were two I downloaded that were exceptional. TYDP

u can use it....but heres what i would do with this squares:

i 'd dont download them but saved them as jpegs

i open it in PS and extract only what i need

i crop them in circle

i accentuate contrast

and i "define brush" and play with settings later (scattering and other dynamics) thats the way id use them... but u can do it from any picture/texture u want , no need this stuff.

Brushes are just like sampling in music, u can cheat and make a hit with some James Brown'songs OR u cansample ur own sounds, go into street and catch sounds n sample them ....and have fun and never see the same crap that somebody did too. Check Deviantart , most of them use the same brushes and evrythg looks the same....

for instance, when i want to "repair a forest" , i use clone tool with a "brush made from source" (leaves,branches,etc)...looks more natural then

I agree micro makeing your own brushes aint hard and the results are more life like.

Time for a create brush tute me thinks
ha after writing this I just spent the last hour using a downloaded brush group...so yes there is some times a need to use pre-designed brushes...
