Start making better competition entries ShionShade and ENTER them, then you can win too.

I've been asking you for months--who were you before you took on the new alias Annajon.

I've probably won about 5 prize contests and the only reason I entered them was because of the anonymous voting. Anon contests are not swayed by popularity and that tends to upset some of the normal winners.

Laughing Have you seen the all-time records?
If you have the most votes ever for an entry, I think it gives you right to sit around and make all the suggestions you want (and start all the game threads you want) at least until you get kicked off.

I agree with Blue Lurker.

The prize contests have promoted a different mentality at PSC. Imho, the start of JMH having prize contests definitely saw the overall quality of contest entries go way downhill, even in the regular dailies. People started rush-entering sloppy work just to "try" for a prize. Coincidentally, more people became far more defensive about their sloppy work, and the original nurturing, learning atmosphere of this place went down the drain.

I am not going to give specific examples and say "this winning entry stinks," but some --SOME-- of the prize-winning entries were nowhere near what my short-list had been. I know, I know, I'm no expert, and "art" is subjective. However, I have often not been the only one who has expressed surprised by the results. Maybe it's coincidence that everyone hates all the other entries but collectively feels like encouraging this particular one, or maybe it's something more sinister. I'll leave the conjecturing to other people.

*Ideally* anonymous contests are not swayed by friend-voting. I'm all for anonymous contests once in a while. But the prize contests have damaged the atmosphere I used to so enjoy.

I don't imagine PSC is about to give up its sponsors now that there are sponsors, though. We need more suggestions for offering / distributing prizes.

yeah this will go over well......NOT. Cool I mean the chances of me winning twice in a lifetime are slim, so i dont think the rule would effect me directly. I dont think if you win a Ten dollar prize that should knock you out for the 99 dollar prize.

I'm not saying the prize is what it's all about, or that the dollar amount matters. Fact is the $279 prize is a better software program than the $19.95 is. So winning the $19.95 today should not disqualify you from winning the $279 next contest.

I know it seems that the people who win are the same, but everyone has 25 votes. My 25 count just as everyone else's. My choice is open to me only, so to be more fair than that would be impossible. Beside's if i could chop like the top ten, i would be up there too. Confused DAMN TALENTED BASTAGGE'S. Very Happy

I've been a couple years, and I changed bodies a couple of times. It was pretty painful.
