god damn it... less than 20 minutes in and yet again my entry has been given a shitty rating by "a non-member" whilst others around me arent even rated.

Mind you, it's a 5 this time, not the usual 1.
i know it can be counter-measured by getting a few friends to pump it back up (which again highlights how moot it all is)

You've got to stop this from being a tie breaker before its too late!

I second this...

I've seen some awesome entries with 1's & 2's
its ridiculous.

If this feature is going to stay, it needs to be tweaked... BIG TIME!

mind you these are all WINNERS too
I mean come on this is a 6.7?

a 5.5?

and a 2?

as far as i know, this isn't a tie breaker yet (it's still under revision). Tie breaker is still the 'first in wins' system.

Btw, personally I don't care at all about the rating system.. I never even bother to check it..

If your in a tie with someone, just log off and give them a "1" rating. Game over. Too easy to cheat! Evil or Very Mad

I don't think it is a tie breaker yet. See the 'Eyes' contest tie for 4th place. (huh, I guess Grefix already covered that)

I'm curious, too, Claf. Just what is this rating and how's it based. There's a rating of 2.0 under my av when I view my entry? Please explain. Thanks.

that means someone (outside of PSC) the general public if you will, gave you a 2 rating out of a possible 10 in other words its equivalent to an F or a failing grade if you go by a grading scale ie.

A = 9 or 10
B = 7 or 8
C = 5 or 6
D = 3 or 4
F = 1 or 2

thats the way I look at it... I'm sorry, NO ONE should get an F... ok maybe so... but still an F is harsh if you did any type of good work... I can understand getting a C... at least thats passing.
so I've been failing a lot lately, yet always seem to do well vote wise... I just don't get it.
http://photoshopcontest.com/view-entry/106540/bonding.html
I'm sorry this cannot be an F and still be a winner...
thats very contradictory.. I think either someones down voting everyone, or the general public hasn't a clue on what it takes to do photoshop.

I know it doesn't mean anything right now, but in a way it does... when people fail you, like Gran was saying, that is a kick to the groin... It sucks.

yup... rid of it. I think I am also under "attack" with the big price contest whats running now.
But well.. I saw at least one entry that may win if its up to me. I think I will not be the proud owner of the notebook anyway.
But in case it will become a tie... then the rating will make me loose. ( not a looser!)

Luckely my happiness is not depending on a notebook Very Happy
