Wiz, this guy's a hoot. I must say, though, that for real pee-poo, you need a bird. Now, a macaw cranks out pee-poo that would gag a cat.

You NEVER burn evergreen needles of ANY kind. That's begging for a fire. The smell you like comes from the oils in the tree and there's plenty of the oils in the logs.
Also steer clear of burning pines of any type in your fireplace. Pines create creosote deposits faster than most other firewoods. That's what caught fire in your chimney. Chimney sweeps are still around for a reason.
