Basically the idea is to have veteran choppers mentor newer members. To some extent this is already happening.
(And, no Scion, this isn't about picking a Gumby. Wink )

It would help speed up the process. I don't mean DOING THEIR WORK for them but making suggestions, offering guidance, etc.

I'd love to see 7-12 pages of IMAGE ENTRIES again, instead of 2-4.

I'll sign in as a mentoree. I pick ReyRey, Claf and Anfa as my teachers. When does the class start?

Eve, there are veterans already giving the benefit of their knowledge, but they don't always do that in the open. And, I know of a few layerfiles that we can download, so we can look and learn from the work on some entries done by the best...

But, if you are going to do this the LONG way, (over eight pages long, I mean), then you might invite the old guys by pm to respond here on this forum, if they are interested to participate, so they can let us know exactly what specific questions they can be contacted for.

And then, while you are at it, ask Procyon to preserve this forum and all the tuturials that come from it, on the new tutorial section he is working on for PSC.

Then all the work the old guys put in now, will remain preserved for the future nubies as well.

Is this too far fetched?

Bringing Gumby Back? I always thought that the spirit of the Gumby/Sponsor relationship would include mentoring (and I'm NOT mentoring myself Wink).

On the serious side............yes, I think that would be a good idea... Very Happy

But, i've had new members (as in joined that day and haven't posted any entries)contact me and want to pick my brain about Photoshop..........uh, NO...something about that doesn't sit right with me..

On the otherhand, if someone has posted a few images and can't get past the single digit vote level and is serious and wants some help.....yes, I'd be willing to give some advice...........that's one of the things were here for.

So, if there was a bit of criteria, I'd say yes Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Absolutely, Synth. I seldom "greet" new members in the Welcome Center Forum because 9 times out of 10 they never produce anything.

I DO see some very original ideas from newbies who could greatly advance with a little help.

But.........I've not heard from any of them. Confused

Or they can continue doing it between PMs.

Dunno, just an idea.
