My kids machine is a vista, but I don't wanna give her my 2 gig
flash drive, so it'll have to wait for me to go pick one up for her.
2 gig flash drives run about $30 around here.
So anyway...you Vista lovers....want a buncha extra ram cheap?
This is ridiculous..ya don't need a 2 gigger but 2 gigs is cool, your 512, or even 256 will be great..
anyway check out this hack and turn yer stick into extra ram
http://www.i-hack.org/computer/software/use-any-usb-stick-to-readyboost-your-computer.html

I''ve done several hacks from this site and trust it. So far it's all been good.

BTW- don't bother with any of the hacks that allow you to download everything from itunes and stuff like that--yes all his hacks work but ya have to be there the day they're posted--sites tend to close off the loopholes he finds within a day or two..so ya gotta be there when
they first get posted.

Damn super hack Scion.....very nice to know. The mother-in-law has Vista on her computer. Since she can't turn the damn thing on without one of my Kids helping....it should not be too long before it becomes a new member of my home. Cool That is one good thing that comes from having a technically disadvantaged senior in the family. You get all the hi-tech shit she can't run. Too bad she learned how to turn on the Flatscreen HDTV she got for X-mas.. Crying or Very sad ..i just knew it was coming home with me after the first month. Twisted Evil

found something called "AR RAM Disk" for Windows XP. it caches your files to ram if you have lots of it available.

Awesome, Scion. I have several drives literally laying around, including a couple 2GB ones. I had tried to use the ReadyBoost crap, but it refused to use the stick, even though it was brand-freaking-new and fast as they come. Evil or Very Mad I'll have to try this out.

EDIT: AAAAAAAAAGH!!! Now that I actually WANT it to bug me about that crap when I plug my flash drives in, it's not giving me crap for options. the ReadyBoost tab isn't even there anymore. What the hell!! Doh!

well, so long as you can get the damn thing to DO the autoplay thing. It used to bug me about that crap ALL THE TIME, and now it won't do it. Operating systems take on a mind of their own if you don't wipe them frequently. My old computer was so damn evil, it could predict what I was about to do and do the WORST possible thing at the WORST exact moment. Computers are bastards! Bastards, I say! ARGH! Argh
