Ok been a few profile threads of late and I guess it got me thinking.

I would like to try and get some more work in the graphic type industry around my local area, but I don't know what I should have in a portfolio, so far the work I'm doing has been from word of mouth and its been an almost steady flow of different stuff. Photo repair and colourisation has been the bulk of work but there have been some fantasy type images...and lots of "you are here" images for the local shopping centre and fire exists...hey pays the bills. I want to sort of expand and see just what work I can achieve.

So what do you have in your portfolio, add a link for me to see and what ever help you want to add will be more than appreciated.

Laughing ssssshhhhhhhhh.....only if she hears ya.. Laughing Laughing

Blue..here is a idea i had....i don't know how everyone is about cars and such out where you live.....but i have thought about going to Bodyshops that do custom work....and if a client would like to see thier car with certain effects...rims and colors.....i could provide them with a close visual to look at..within the a few hours in most cases.....that way they don't have to guess if they would like green better than Yellow, And i just charge a fee for the service. All could be done from my home..and a pic sent by email.

As far as a portfolio.....Diversity is the way to go.....since everyone is different......give them all something to look at.

here's a tip, bluegraphics.anything may not be a good domain name Laughing Laughing Laughing
offer still stands, any .com plus hosting £25 a year i have two 15.000GB sites i can tap into, unlimited .coms, not sure how the fpt would work though, tinas site is hosted inside blutorials, but you could never tell by looking at the address, http://hellsg8.com/
must of been drunk when i bought this one, http://icanhasvodka.com/ also hosted inside bluetorials.com

That's cool work Splodge, I especially like the flash roll overs. Cool

Blue, I'm not a graphic designer by any means and thus have little to say here, other than I would be more on the buying side of this equation, if at all. As a buyer, shopping through portfolios, what I 'know' I would be looking for most is .. delivery.

Did this person/team/company deliver what was agreed upon on time. On budget, etc.. Laurels for past projects are OK, showing off your stuff is also good, but in the end, its proof of 110% commitment and delivery that wins the selection game almost every time for me. Just my 2¢ worth ...

Also Blue, just wondering, have you looked through the yahoo directory for portfolio ideas .. ?
