Anyone in the legal/lawyer-ly way care to PM with some free legal advice?

I have a contract with someone that I have not breeched in any way. I believe they are trying to use a different company to provide my services, and are trying to cancel my contract.

There is still 2 years remaining on my contract.... I have the maintenance contract on the building grounds (ie, mowing and snow plowing) through summer end 2009.

I have rights if they do choose the other company, don't I? Esp. since I haven't breeched in any way? The company would have to pay me an estimate on the balance of the value of the contract, would they not?

More details can be given via PM if anyone has any input on this. I have been trying since Friday to clear up the matter, but not getting any communication from the company who signed the contract for my services.

Seems like they would have to honor the contract, unless there's a clause in there that gives them the option to get out whenever they want.

Here is the things I'd consider.

Do they owe you money?

Is there anything in the contract about their options if they feel your work is unsatisfactory?

Do they have to respect certain channels like registered letter or reliably informing you that your work is suffering and you are in danger of breaching your contract?

Is it worth enough to involve a lawyer?

I would totally document all of the work performed. Take lots and lots of pictures of the work with dates. Keep a running journal of work performed.

Call immigration on the company stealing your work!

If they really want to do business with someone else that bad, Let them go. This is still a small world. I'd be hesitant to hire a company with a reputation for suing customers.
