The s**t may have hit several fans, but hey, it always does around here. It is what contributes to what PSC is. I say let Osc back, I understand what he did, but while it may have been an ill informed decision to do it, I believe it was only in jest it was done.

Members have been banned in the past for periods of 1 week, 2 weeks or a month etc for doing similar things, and offending admin or mods. If Osc deserves a slap on the wrist for talking cuss to people he should not have, then maybe a short ban is in order, but not a full on account obliterating ban.

I am unsure what exactly was said or done, so I can not judge entirely. But from what I did read and hear, I think a full ban is a little harsh.

I voted YES, and here's why: I have NO idea how old Oscar is, but I suspect he's younger than me (hell, ROCKS are younger than ME! Pebbles too!)... and he was, by his own admission, being a JackAss.

I say let the ban stand for a week. This is a good lesson for him (sorry, dude, I'm not REALLY interested in being your daddy, but I'm okay with "big bro" ) to learn. JackAss works ONLY when the community gets that you REALLY care about it. Then peeps can laugh WITH you. But if you do shit and you have NOT SPENT THE TIME TO SHOW YOU ARE ALSO COOL you will find that most of the cool people with kick your ass OUT.

That being said, one DOES need to have a chance to learn and then show that they've gotten the point of the lesson. So, let Oscar back after a week or so. He'll have had some time to better understand what a resourse / time waste this site can truly be and I'll bet a year's Advantage that he'll be a better member to our community.

I had a brief e-mail exchange with Oscar on a different subject as that thread was unfolding. He asked me what I thought about his posting the Rickroll link. My impression was that he was playing a practical joke he hadn't thought completely through. I don't believe he was acting out of malice. He did display an attitude, and his apology was rather reluctant. Still, I think if he is permitted to return, his attitude will be better and a heartfelt apology will be forthcoming. This can be a wonderful learning experience.

Put him on double secret probation. If he screws up again, I'll grab my pitchfork.
