Sorry Scion, but you were not the one who lost time and money for his "practical joke". Synth lost hours of work, and he had to redo it. And you know better than anyone that redoing PS work is a pain in the ass, specially cause you never get the same results, and lose hours you could have used to make more work, and therefore, more money. Would ya like if ya had cut 5 trees and God, out of his holiness, for fun, just planted them back in place so you had to recut it? Now, put yerself in the skin of Synthvet, just for a few minutes, and say again rash was being hypocritical rather than fair. I think Oscar is an example for the newbies to know where the "joking" limits goes. Not everyone is PHd in computer science to know how to stop the frigging crash other than rebooting and losing all the open work. You and me are troublemakers in here, and you know that. But we do our stuff only typing, not causing system crashes. Rash acted right, and I bet it was not a single mod decision, and definetely not a personal abuse of power. As quoted in the skater transcription, it was the second time he did that... make a mistake once is human... make it twice is dumb.

Well I have read thru this twice now...and its no secret that Oscar and myself have hit heads over his negative and derogative methods. I got caught on the first rickthingy and learnt my lesson, (Yes I shut my system down the hard way and lost a few hours work)...I just don't read anything Oscar posts and will never click any link associated with him. With regards to banning, weather the mods had the right or not we rely on there judgement to keep this site running and staying within some moral cyber code.

So before we start judging our mods to harshly lets just remember the last time some on was banned, and just how much pressure we the user's applied to get that to happen, I know not everyone wanted some one banned, but no one cried when they were removed.

If what has been said is true about who Oscar is and had been then I say it a fair cop and let the mods do there job as they see fit.

Sorry you got banned Oscar but you knew it was a possibility, but you like playing on the edge. OK my 2cents au.

I don't think anyone here really wants ya banned, Not even Synthvet. I also don't see the community as folks who hold much of a grudge. (actually learned that from EVE).

True! I believe in Karma...and not holding grudges.
...but some folk do, dewdew.

Why should he curb his behavior to please you when you, and all mods are selective of enforcement of site rules, completely set aside all and any site rules when it might impinge on your fun, refuse to clearly state, and enforce site rules, allow site rules to be set aside for friends, and then when someone like him who did not manage to make buddy buddy with the mods acts the least bit out of line they get jumped on. He's been making the point for a long long time and he is right. His misbehavior was a protest that completely stemmed from his indignation at the misbehavior of site administrators, and again..he is in the right.

Huh? That was a protest? No, That was a childish prank that caused damages to a trusting psc member.

If that was the case, You wouldn't have been allowed to chop in the H2H. Hmmmm

Maybe Oscar needs a time out. Time outs are usually assigned by age. I say Oscar is 12 or 13. Maybe give him a few weeks to reflect on his actions.

the ban stays in place.

for only the reason that in the conversation in the first post, "dude" and "bro" were HEAVILY overused.

Rashdog should never have been the mod to specifically confront Oscar. They've been at each other's throats since he joined psc.
This action was more than inappropriate, it was hypocritical.
We are well past the point where the new site owner needs to set aside the old mods, and the newer ones that don't wanna do the job and start from scratch. We need all new mods, mods that actually represent the users of this site and not just the old hangers on from years ago, and we need a set of site rules that is clearly defined and enforced without favoritism.

hehe... yer silly

okay - one thing I've noticed from this thread is something Super Koma just mentioned.

So as not to take any attention away from THIS thread, I've put my 32 cents worth HERE:

Please check it out. It will help when these "problem jokes" and "nasty power supplies" enter into your creative life. Wink

Not at all supa... I too don't save my work after hours of work... sometimes I'm just way too focused on the work, and assume my system is reliable enough to keep me focused on work instead of having to hit save like every 5 minutes.
