when importing from illustrator black lines are coming out grey, any way to stop it from happening? all the other colours are the same.

would it have to do with transparency?

Maybe you can duplicate the layer you created after the import, and then merge those two layers together, that makes gray darker. Or would that mess with the colours?

it's for print so it needs to be black, although i could replace the colours, it should just work. is there a setting i can change?

edit > preferences > appearance of black

using a macbook pro, i saved it as a psd in illustrator and opened it that way, seems to work a little better, still not sure why i'm having the trouble. oh, and my preferences are set to display rich black.

if yer workin in CMYK 100% black is not as dark as 4 Color Black.

I convert to RGB when I export JPG from Illustrator.

Try saving your Illustrator file as an .eps, then open the eps using Photoshop.
