What's new at PSC
Overall Design Changes
A ground up site design geared to enhance the appearance of the images while making the site easier to use. Home Page Layout The home page now focuses on created artwork, rather than source images. The index data has been re-organized in a more intuitive manner. Contests Display Page Reworked to show less text and more images. The source image has been thumb-nailed and placed in the right column. There is a new upload form and an e-mail button. Contest Entry Display Entries remain at the top. There is a source image zoom button and an all new thumb-nail browsing tool is on the top right. The author is now featured to the right. Below there are options to enlarge, e-mail, etc. Votes and comments now have avatars. Galleries Page Added a winners category and re-styled the category links. Favorites You can now select your favorite images as you browse contests. You are also able to edit the display order. Portfolio Tournament entries have been added to the first page of your portfolio. You can also now order your portfolio entries. New Vote and Comment Notifications If other users leave comments or votes on your entries, there will be a notification box on the right side of the home page. Prizes Prizes will now be a regular part of PSC. You will see prize contests as listed on the home page and in each actual prize contest. Voting will be anonymous for these contests. Advantage The advantage features have been sectioned out into multiple pages. Members can now preview the other contest entries. Advantage account holders also now control the featured image. The source photographs are posted in groups of five and voted on. The winner will be the next contest source image. There are also new pricing and terms tied to a new merchant API, that does not require a PayPal account in order to purchase. In addition, ads will not appear for advantage members. Expanded User Profiles There are now levels of user profiles that you will earn by collecting enough votes and contest victories. In addition to the standard user profile, here are the other options that you can unlock: 250 total votes
Attempted to turn this back into a chat room by removing images, adding avatars and re-working the way images and links display. Logged In Banner You can now see your logged in status at the top of each page. There are links to your user profile, portfolio and favorites. A site search box has been placed just below. Forum Upgrade A new template has been applied. It has a cleaner look and feel and makes the topics easier to navigate through. Record Holders This has been re-organized. User lookup Removed extra user details. Faster and leaner search. About PSC A section with a brief history of PSC. Bottom Navigation Map Easy access to all of the sections of PSC. Login Bug Fixed A new authentication function replaces the old one. Some users could not leave the site and return logged in. Others had to log in twice. |
