With your sun where it is, the shadows on the mountain are going the wrong way. The birds also seem to patterned. Too many clusters? Not crazy about the clouds. You should add some sandy edge on the sides of the river where the water has been eroding it.

the sun is meant to be hazy through the clouds, and that is why the lighting is a more subdued and indeed hazy look. The part on the left is near to shot thus out of focal range to target...

...originally I had repaired the colour of the original large shadowed area near to perfect, but, with the sharpness it gave made the scenelook flat, so to give depth I chose to make this area into a nearer mountain...

Agree with ReyRey. In fact I never liked any extensions, they are usually easy to do or not well executed... I don't like to see the same details or patterns appearing twice or more, and also don't like any blur from stamp tool ... only my opinion. :)
