I like it, but the truck just looks out of place. It seems too blurry for where it is. Since the flower is from source, I would just get rid of the truck. I also agree with Goat about the lighting.

Very well done Marco. I think it looks fine. Besides, I can't remember the last time I was in the forest, after snow, and ran into a "real" mechanical bush. so I am not really sure what that would look like. Great!

Nice use of source, particularly the suspension spring nut on the plant, nice touch. On the top of the plant, some sun light should drench some of the colour of it maybe?

I like the construction of the flower. However...just a few questions: How can se see the details so well when it is so strongly back-lit (the trees in the BG are completely dark). Also, is this vegetation growing in snow??? I am so confused. :P

I took most of the detail of the tree bark away when I blurred it, you can pick it up slightly on big, but on this size does look dark I agree, yet the snow is reflecting the light all over, so I am personally happy with the lighting, it is subdued...

... and green veggie life can grow easily in snow as long as it is not 100% snow 100% of the time, a random snow fall would not cause everything to drop dead on the spot, the sparkles are showing the sun is melting the snow...
marcoballistic marcoballistic
... and hence why the plants are clear. Also the inclusion of the original truck was to suggest the snow fall came quickly and unexpectantly from the original scene.

As far as snow reflecting the light onto the trees, wouldn't the snow be whiter if it was reflecting that much light?
marcoballistic marcoballistic
snow and truck in near distance are at same focal range, I hear what your saying though Tute, cheers

Good idea, however, lighting is a mess, snow looks like sand, its so damn dark, snow is white, also the car takes a lot away from it. The grass makes no sense, whatsoever, The flower petals and terribly integrated, making the lighting have no sense at all
rockyjob rockyjob
metal petals and translucent, and are facing backwords from the light source, the trunk should have more light hitting it, therefore more highlights on the edges. The middles has four different light sources and is way to light,Also the leaf has same...

problem, I have no idea why the flower has an outer glow, and I know you usually do this but the image is way to desatured and has a bad color choice, Personally I think this is actually overvoted rushed work.
rockyjob rockyjob
You can certainly fix this, But what i´m trying to do is make do better work. You have skills, so use them, why waist them making these chops, focus on the quallity of your work instead of the quantity. PLEASE Mark I´m saying this as a friend: Lisen

I´m not trying to make any persinal attacks or bring you down, just trying to help, Hope you understand ;)

I hear what you are saying Rocky, but overall you do realise this is not a real image of a mechanic flower... as they don't exist :oP ha just kidding, if I had made this totally dull and dark, people would have seen nothing, & where is the fun in that ;o
marcoballistic marcoballistic
also I feel fine with the look of the image and what I set out to achieve, all power to many moving and keeping the truck whole entries in the comp, but I wanted to make it into something, and also have a story of the trucks progression into my scene...
marcoballistic marcoballistic
...succeeded or not, its all good with me, cheers for ya point of view, very interesting
Goat1981 Goat1981
...however, I don't know why you just didn't choose a different environment for your creation. ...one where the lighting made sense. The snow wouldn't reflect light that much, and if it were, the base of the BG trees would be affected as well...

lol @ Trace, ahhh so true

agree away, to live and learn I say, cheers all
