im no good with lighting either.. lol Maybe lighten the upper areas of the circles and the big main red piece to show the lighting from above.

The shading on the main cable suggests the light source is from above right. It's shadow should move left, as should the shadows of the right valves. The lower cable has a conflicting light source.
