You could try resizing the original flower after you gave it a black duplicate that is slightly bigger, so you have the dark edges, then make it tiny as in old game avatar tiny, and then saving that tiny image, and use that in this game screenshot

The resizing to scale into this image should get you the pixelated format you need.
