change the direction of the grain on the top of the cabinet and you'll get depth effect (and probably votes to go with it).

the grain on the top and sides should be at a different angle than the front. Imagine you were taking a board and cutting a piece for each side and laying down on the speaker. Which way would that grain go once you lay it down?
