I'd like it more if there were actually some shadows where the shell hangs over its shoulder. right now it looks flat. :(

The Light is comming from directly above and slightly in front of the beast, so the light would actually be illuminating the top of the shoulder as it is now...just look at the shadow of the beasts ear. It's not perfect but I think it is correct.

it's really a very minor thing, but i do i think there would be a little bit of shadow because the shell comes forward, but we can see into it. the neck-skin well under the overhanging shell would be in shade from an overhead sun. regardless, i like i

I know, it all looks good, but there has the be at least a little shade there, it just doesn't look right. The rest is good, though, so I'll go ahead and give you a vote.

maybe it's just because the color of the shell and the color of the skin contrast so much...I dunno. :)
