SPLODGE SAYS WE'RE GOING FOR SECOND ENTRIES FOLKS...SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT ANOTHER SHOT AT THIS. IF YOU SEE (*) AFTER YOUR NAME, THAT MEANS YOU WANT TO MAKE ANOTHER IMAGE FOR THE ORIGINAL SCROLL.
This is really cool. PSC could do this too... without a source image...imagine that!

PSCROLL

SPLODGE'S ROLL-CANVAS SITE IS:
http://www.hallcross.co.uk/flash/SCROLL.htm

I've started the canvas with these Photoshop settings:

3333 x 2083 pixlels
300 dpi

then re-sample image at 72 dpi and canvas will equal 800x500 pixels.

You may start on your image (collecting ideas and such). You can't complete it until you get the person's work who's above you. Just keep in mind that we want each image to blend into one another like in the sample link so it looks like one long mural.

I'cve seen such a thing couple of weeks ago. Can't remember the link, but if I'll find it back, I'll post it up here.

Anyway, would be glad to join this.
Also, I'm willing to provide the hosting on my own site, got space and transfer enough for such large image. Seperate subdomain offcourse something like http://psc.grefix.be

Would be nice to get some rules established:
- size of image
- who's turn it is to make an image, and wich place it gets in the canvas. Especially when you wan to blend seperate images this will be nescessary
- time limit, so others don't have to wait for ages

Mikey, I count 21 images. They're all fairly large and artsy-fartsy. I'm thinking, we can make smaller images and the main challenge is seamless integration. That and finding someone who knows Flash to put it all together. Thanks, Grefix for offering to host it, btw.

Maybe by mid-week, we'll see if there's enough interest in a project such as this, then proceed from there. Very Happy

This is pretty cool... Very Happy

I'm always in for learning more flash. Have my own flash site and done more.
I'm sure i can think of a script what will have this effect. If i don't succeed in thinking one out of my own, i'm sure there is one free somewhere on the internet.

Actually, I'm thinking it will be a new creation rather than a series of posts we've all seen on here. One person makes an image, the next person continues it, albeit in their own "voice" --their own image--but making the transition seemless as in the link above.

Think you'll want to do that?

Why not people do a brand new work for this canvas... here it's one of my best work of the "abstract" kind (photoshop made of course). People could really work together and discussing about what is best (colors) to fit...no votes ...we'd do a contest without vote for once Cool
I propose this pic cuz i just did it but may be it won't fit.. Question

On the contrary, Micose, I think this would start things off with a BIG BANG! The next person would have to integrate the edge of your image into their own...and so forth.

It's quite worthy. Besides we don't have a hat big enough to toss all the names in to decide who's first, second, etc. Best to keep this FUN and INFORMAL.

Very Happy
