Must be talking about DoaC's comment on this entry:

I think your "humor" is different than around here. It's the title and the subject matter that I don't find funny. The title "mom special punishment" gives the impression of child abuse. Child abuse just isn't funny. To have a run over kid isn't funny either. At least not a child lying face down smashed into the ground.

You could have had someone standing up and overlayed the tread pattern. Then called it "speed bump". I think it'd have been responded to better.

As for votes well the photoshopping effort just isn't there on that particular piece either. The colors one the ground don't match. The extension of the tread pattern is too repetetive. The tread pattern goes "over" plants that aren't smashed into the ground. The edged of the tread are too clean. Look at a tire imprint in the ground and you'll see the edges aren't that crisp. There's some smooth area from the sidewall of the tire that leaves a straight edge and not the zig-zag edge you have here.

Please try not to take the comments and lack of votes too personal. Keep at it. You'll get to a point where you'll not only be making chops that people understand but they'll be kick-ass.

i know awesome artists that do dark, even macabre things but so beautifully and with talent! so...your ideas ,whatever they are, are useless without any technical knowledge. Once u will have this knowledge, may be votes will come. And don't think people here are basic, wise, common, there are lots of real nuts here but that actually make me laugh or amaze me and for whom i vote.

This was evil too, but done with skill and handled in a way that people get the evil idea but it is accepted because it is not so blunt and in your face. We know the kid is going to stab the girl (or is he?)
It has more meaning and a longer lasting effect if you leave it up the viewers imagination.
Know what I mean?? Rolling Eyes There is a place for "in your face" too. If it is done with amazing skill it will be more accepted for it's artistic qualities (to a point) If you are just going for shock value, don't expect a lot of votes. Just be happy that you were able to annoy, offend, or sicken some people which can be a lot of fun too. Twisted Evil
Good Luck in the future. Just put a little more thought into your chops if you want votes. Wink

Well, to be honest, I had no idea what I was looking at untill Tofu explained it (and even then it took me a couple of minutes to see the figure of the child in the ground). So that's the 1st reason why I didn't vote.

You might think, well just look at the title, it should give you a clue. Well, I seldomly look at a title, an image has to speak for itself without the aid of a title.

Second, I second the statement of Tofu about child abuse. Children are a very sensitive subject to work with. People don't like seeing children being hurt, even if it is fake. If you would have used a grown person, the sensitivity might have taken off (for instance a sort of mafia theme).

Third: as said before, when you're doing these kind of things, you have to be skilled to make it work. Like micose said, there are various artist who get away with these kind of things due to their experience and artistic superiority. I, myself, wouldn't even try such a thing, because I'm just no good enough too pull it off (maybe I am, but I don't have that confidence yet Smile )

But don't get dissapointed, chop on and get the skills Smile
