It's nice but, What a waste. The animated desktops are slick but I'd rather have instantaneous on-off. I've been using Debian/Sarge for about a year now. The main reason being Debian has a root account. Ubuntu's reliance on a sudo login can be frustrating. Currently, I use six desktops. I have one for internet, photoshop, limewire, xmms, totem, and file browsing. It took a few weeks to get the hang of not closing programs to unclutter a desktop. The best part is that the programs I use most are always available with no start-up time. My biggest complaint is that almost every bit of M$ software I downloaded for use with crossover is infected with viruses. Open /usr/lib/codecs/ and see if you have a file called vp31vfw.dll. It comes with every copy of w32codecs I've seen. Basically, It's an incarnate of w32magistr@te virus. I found a few more in a crossover C: drive file. It sucks, All the viruses and shit common to windows made linux an obvious choice. Now, I'm dealing with them again. The things we do for art...
