Even though your site's browser stats show that people are using higher resolutions, you're assuming that everyone surfs with their browsers maximized. My screen resolution is 1600x1200, but I rarely have my browser maximized. It usually takes up the left half of the screen (800x1200). I could be really weird about this, but I think a lot of people do similar things. In fact, I know a lot of web designers do similar things. We like multi-tasking Smile

So even though you may not end up with a site that fits perfectly in 800x600, you might want to think about what parts they see.

If you're willing to learn a bit about scripting and/or programming you could try BrowserHawk.

It'll tell you all kinds of stuff about the browser and plug ins. Then you script your page to automatically adjust for the display size.

I did finish my first homepage a few days ago, and dreamweaver was absolutely the clue. First I started to code in pure html and had a "html4 for dummies"-book for help. So I learned the basics of html, which helped me a lot to understand and use dreamweaver later on. With the knowledge about html and the help-function of dreamweaver I finished within one day, for what I spent three weeks before. so my advice: learn html-basics.
