ratings mean nothing just ignore it. The winner usually gets 1-5 out of 10

I ignore the ratings totally.

Since even spiders (like google) can rate images (just by scanning the link)) it's totally useless.

So this could well be that Google, yahoo, and msn search are rating you micose

Anyway, either drop the ratins or make it more secure
( for the techies, use POST submit, and possibly even add CaptCha, to reduce the possible robot submittors ).

As it is now, it's totally useless and unsecure.

I don't even notice the ratings.
I had to go back and check some entries to see what I got.
I rarely even notice it, cause it's mixed in with date/file size/ect which I usually ignore.

personally I said it before, the 1 - 10 rating system is stupid, it does nothing but give 'guests' a chance to vote. Do we need them to vote? they're not paying or playing to be here. If people want to play, they'll play. I joined by looking for tutorials, I saw the contests, and joined. it wasn't because I could vote 1 -10 on images. (they didn't even have that option yet) It seems the only time they are now used is like it was just said... jealousy.

So really do we need the 1 - 10 rating system? It was originally set up to settle ties (which personally was already settled) by who posted first

I wish I could find that classic example of someone like photoshop master with a 10 on his entry its a stupid system, and it needs to be removed IMPO.

First, I was having trouble to understand which ratings you refer too.
Second, i found them and I thought that it is relation between votes and views, but it's not.
At the end, I curiously checked some entries and discovered that I'm top photochopper (even I'm far away from this)
