Must be just me, because I don't see anybody else complain about it.
i'm running the same set up as you except i have cable modem my front page always loads 3-5 secs however my voting is slow to return back to the options screen after one is cast and my inbox out box save box are slow to return after deleting a message.

im in oregon us at 2:03 pm and my third try is: /index.php executed in 1.55364 seconds on cluster node .

11:07pm PST...took nearly 2 minutes to load home page...loading home page is the worse. I can load chat, forums, Advant quicker than home page...if that's any help to you.
but once it's finally loaded and i resubmit, it takes this long
