Ok I had a little rant last night, a good rant that is in another thread, http://photoshopcontest.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=8140 and a few people PMed me saying that it should stand alone, so (cut and paste)...

Been a long time since I got the old ACME 2000soapbox out but I fell the need.

Anita Sanyal, first thank you for your great words. We have never met but like you I was a nubie here many Moons ago, I do not consider myself an old timer, Im not that good....yet.

Your words are important, very important. The heart of this place is not the adds, artwork, hits or how much money it makes. The heart is the people that come here every day, week, month or year. (Ok this is gunna get a little long but I feel we need reminding)

With all the new folks comming and going, some things get lost or forgotten, after reading your words Anita, (Hope you dont mind me being forward) I fell the need to use my ACME2000.

This place is what it is because of people like:
Splodge keeper of the class photo, flashking, and many other great things here. He is good for a laugh and is around in those times when the place is quiet just in case ya need him.
Mightybeet spammonkey, catcaptioner and creator of the Gordonk. Just like Splodge he is around when ya least expect it and always ready to help.
Cafn8d always ready with a smile, joke or some advice to help ya along.
Scionshade, yeah I know he can get a little one tracked but shit he has the best interest of this place at heart and that counts for a lot for me.
Leif, Xov, Pete, Bluefist, chicken, Ledrilo, Arco and the other rebels of PSC, there banter can at times offend but they to keep comming back here just to chat.
Patre Saint Pat as I like to think of him, always a kind and encouraging word and a man I have much respect for, he is so much a part of the true heart of PSC.
L@rue and his sweet giffy magic, Beefhead and his quick whit, Nancers and here hate for kitties but will help any who asked, Showcase love him or hate him he to has done a lot for this site, the Old School that created the history and Scavhunts and the reunion chops and so much more and of course JMH who with help from some great friends started all this and the new boss for keepin us alive.

I could go on for ages, because there are so many people here that do a lot and never seek glory. I have left out the top choppers, like Anfa, Billtv, Reyrey, Claf, Marco, Fixit, Micros and so many others, but you all know them, there out and about still chopping and moding and keeping this place alive and fun and doing a great job. I wanted to mention those that dont chop as that much anymore yet still come here to vote, chat, play and help. So thank you Anita for reminding me why I come here, and if you have read this all the way thru then Thank You as well.

Oh yeah just one thing, what does this place mean to you?

I have read the whole article and came to know about the team members. You have described them nicely. My answer to your question "what does this place mean to you?" is:
It is a world club under the sun; where people of different countries, religions and tastes gather and exchange their thoughts in terms of artistic representations. No boundaries, no obligations; -only total freedom. That's all.

the old small psc has turned into something.There's no arguing I prefer my psc friends to the real ones I had lately.That's the point, to make it a place with better deals than reality, that has positive impacts on reality: like meeting members for real, making positive things through the web.
To me, it has become nothing but a family,internet based, but with real "applications"(?); and I cant explain it here.
The people named by lurker share my life, heck, we're spending time together.
Although I think most of you are ...nm ;)
As I get away from the artistic life I dont care much about the great way the site has evolved, thanks to JMH, fucking hail him for that, and procyon for keeping it in the same spirit.
I am disappointed that it tends to stick to some illustrative, not so much skilled art style, and would much prefer that the standard was photography/photorealism bound, for personal taste, skill preoccupation, and business application concerns.
JMH did with psc exactly what a few of us told him it should be four years ago, now if procyon wants to be as good, and if he feels this psc is a success, then he needs to ask the same people jmh did what the next step should be :)

There is so much I could say; I could probably gush on for hours. This is my home, online. My family. And PSC has grown so much, it's a hometown online community. My "family," my "hometown." Complete with sibling rivalry, overbearing in-laws, know-it-all cousins I haven't even met yet, bickering neighbors, and gangs of bums who loiter about in chat and/or tag the forums all day! *ahem* But... we're here for one another, too. Big time. When the chips are down and (*enter pages of aforementioned gushing here*)
